Choices for Selection of Verbs include:
1 - Chapter 2 - Verb Type 3 - Conjugation
4 - Tense 5 - Person 6 - Gender
7 - Number 8 - Suffixal Ending 9 - English Definition
2) Verb Type -- Verbs are chosen according to the pattern of the first two
radicals and the classification of the last radical of the verbal root.
EXAMPLES: NATAN is I-Nun III-Nun; QUM is Hollow Regular.
Choices for the First two letters of the root are:
- - Regular 1 - I-Gutteral 2 - II-Gutteral
3 - I-Nun 4 - I-Yodh 5 - Hollow
6 - I-Aleph 7 - Stative
Choices for the Final letter of the root are:
- - Regular 1 - III-Gutteral 2 - III-Aleph
3 - III-He 4 - Geminate 5 - III-Nun
3) Conjugation -- Choose any combination of the following:
1 - Qal 2 - Niphal 3 - Piel/Polel
4 - Pual/Polal 5 - Hiphil 6 - Hophal
7 - Hithpael/Hithpolel 8 - Hishtaphel 9 - Qal Passive
4) Tense -- Choose any combination of the following:
1 - Perfect 2 - Imperfect 3 - Jussive
4 - Imperative 5 - Cohortative 6 - Infinitive Construct
7 - Inf. Absolute 8 - Active Participle 9 - Passive Participle
5) Person -- This classification doesn't affect infinitives or participles:
1 - First Person 2 - Second Person 3 - Third Person
6) Gender -- Remember to include "-" if you want any neuter verbs!
1 - Masculine 2 - Feminine - - Common
7) Number -- This doesn't affect Infinitives:
1 - Singular 2 - Plural
8) Suffixal Ending -- Include "-" if you want any verbs without suffixes!
1 - of me 2 - of you [man] 3 - of you [woman]
4 - of him 5 - of her 6 - of us
7 - of you [men] 8 - of you [women] 9 - of them [men]
0 - of them [women] - - No suffix
9) English Definition -- You can be quizzed by literal meaning or by partial
or complete parsing of the verb. RETURN will yield the literal meaning.
